This course equips licensed mental health professionals with strategies to help clients with Complex PTSD manage overwhelming trauma memories through memory clustering. Participants will learn to group memories by themes, sensory triggers, and relationships, making EMDR processing more effective. This course includes stabilization techniques, target sequencing, and culturally sensitive approaches for trauma healing.

Candace Hamilton is a Registered Psychologist, EMDR Consultant, and trauma specialist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. Originally from Jamaica, she has dedicated her career to understanding and treating Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and relational trauma, helping individuals heal from childhood trauma, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, betrayal, and attachment wounds. Now calling Edmonton, Alberta home, Candace continues to provide compassionate, trauma-focused care while training and mentoring other clinicians.
With a background in both clinical work and academia—having previously lectured at the International University of the Caribbean—Candace integrates research-driven insights with practical, real-world application. She is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-Focused Trauma Therapy, and dissociation treatment, allowing her to guide therapists in working with younger parts of the self, attachment wounds, and complex dissociative experiences. Her passion lies in helping clinicians build confidence and competence in trauma treatment, ensuring they feel supported as they develop their skills.
As an EMDRIA-Approved Continuing Education Provider, Candace is committed to equipping therapists with advanced trauma therapy skills, particularly in EMDR and its integration with IFS, attachment-focused approaches, and dissociation work.
